The 10 Best ATV Sprayers
1. Master Manufacturing Spot Sprayer – Best Overall
The Master Manufacturing SSO-01-015A-MM Spot Sprayer is the ATV sprayer we chose as the best overall. This model can hold up to 15 gallons of any fluid, and the powerful pump can spray up to 2.2 gallons per minute to a distance of up to 25 feet away. The sturdy housing won’t leak, it can spray Roundup, and it easily attaches to an ATV.
If we had to choose a downside, it would be that we wish the sprayer had a few more spraying patterns. Despite this,
- 15-gallon sprayer
- Sprays 2.2 gallons per minute
- 25-foot reach
- Not many spray patterns
2. Ironton ATV Spot Sprayer – Best Value
The Ironton ATV Spot Sprayer is the model that we believe is the best ATV sprayer for the money. This low-cost sprayer can unload up to 1 gallon per minute. It has an 8-gallon tank, and molded measurement marking on the side is helpful when it comes time to mix ingredients. This brand is also Roundup approved.
The eight-gallon tank holds enough water, but the pump is a little weak at spraying it out. Spray reach is only a few feet, so you need to get pretty close.
- Sprays one gallon per minute
- 8-gallon tank
- Molded measurement marks
- Low-cost
- The pump could be stronger
3. BioLogic Chapin Outfitters ATV Sprayer – Premium Choice
The BioLogic 6500 Chapin Outfitters ATV Sprayer is our premium choice ATV sprayer. This sprayer has everything you need, but it comes at a high cost. The tank uses extremely durable polypropylene in its construction. These tanks won’t crack or leak, and they are resistant to ultraviolet rays and will not become brittle. Polyethylene is also safe to use with chemical weed killers like Roundup. This tank has a 15-gallon capacity and can spray up to 2.2 gallons per minute.
We liked the addition of the pressure gauge, which makes it easy to see exactly how much pressure is in the system during different cycles, and the adjustable nozzle gave us some options with our spraying methods. This model is quite expensive, though, and it tends to blow an internal fuse if you have the pressure up too high.
- 15-gallon tank capacity
- Sprays 2.2 gallons per minute
- Durable polyethylene
- Pressure gauge
- Adjustable nozzle
- High cost
- Sometimes blows a fuse with high-pressure
4. Fimco LG-25-EC Economy Spot Sprayer
The Fimco LG-25-EC Economy Spot Sprayer features a durable polyethylene tank that’s sturdy enough to survive a few falls without cracking or leaking. It features a low profile design that distributes the weight of the fluid more evenly.
While we found that this tank does seem more stable than many of the others on this list when resting on a hard flat surface, we couldn’t get ours to attach securely to our ATV, and it fell off multiple times but didn’t break. There is also no on-off switch present, so you need to unplug it to stop it from pumping. The pump quality is pretty low, and there isn’t much pressure behind the spray.
- Polyethylene tank
- Low profile
- No on-off switch
- Doesn’t fit snuggly to ATV
- Poor quality pump
5. Precision Products TCS15 Spot Sprayer
The Precision Products TCS15 Spot Sprayer is a large capacity sprayer with a tank that can hold up to 15 gallons. It features plenty of reach with the 15-foot hose, and the durable hard plastic tank sits perfectly on the ATV.
We felt that the pump is a little weak for this side tank. It pumps about 1 gallon per minute, and while it does help a full tank last longer, we couldn’t help but feel that a stronger pump would be a great addition. We also noticed a bit of dripping occurring from the drain plug, and after using the drain plug, the leaking problem became worse.
- 15-gallon tank
- 15-foot hose
- Drain plug leaks
- Flimsy handle
- Weak pump
6. Guide Gear GG10GS ATV Spot Sprayer
The Guide Gear GG10GS ATV Spot Sprayer is a smaller-sized sprayer that features a 10-gallon tank, and a pump that can spray up to one gallon per minute. The tank can hold herbicides like roundup and molded measurement help when you need to mix ingredients or need an accurate measurement of remaining fluid.
We found the tank to be very thin, and ours cracked after only a few uses. The pump also makes quite a bit of noise and always sounded to us like it was about to stop working. It never did stop working, but the spray it produced did not have a lot of pressure behind it.
- 1 gallon per minute
- 10-gallon tank
- Molded measurements
- Low-quality pump
- Tank cracks
7. Chapin International 97561 Spraying System
The Chapin International 97561 ATV Spraying System is an extra-large capacity system that features two separate tanks. The larger tank is the water tank, and it can hold up to 25 gallons at a time. The smaller fuselage is the concentrate tank, and it is for holding the fertilizer and herbicides like Roundup, etc. The pump can spray up to 2.2 gallons per minute.
We liked the large capacity of this model, but despite our best attempts, we were unable to get this machine to stop leaking. The drain plug leaked, as well as the spray hose. The small clear hose between the two tanks leaked as well. We don’t know if the pump was weak, or there was too much air in the system, but the spay didn’t seem to have the same pressure as other 2.2 gallons per minute sprayers.
- Separate tanks
- 25-gallon water tank
- 2-gallon concentrate tank
- Sprays 2.2 gallons per minute
- Drain plug leaks
- Hoses leak
- Weak pump
8. Happybuy ATV Spot Sprayer
The Happybuy ATV Spot Sprayer features a design that centers around durability. The 15.8-gallon tank utilizes extra-thick walls to prevent cracks and leaks. The polymer used in construction is chemical- and UV-resistant, and the sprayer features a micro-flow technology for a more consistent spray.
While we used this model, we were impressed by how durable and sturdy this unit is, and the pump moves water with authority. However, the rest of the model is very cheap and flimsy. The wand, as well as the hose, are lightweight and seem out of place when compared to the tank and pump. The straps also struggle to hold the weight of a topped-off tank.
- 8-gallon capacity
- Durable
- Micro-flow technology
- Low-quality spray wand
- Cheap straps
- Boom sprayer falls apart
9. BE AGRIEase ATV Sprayer
The BE AGRIEase 90.700.150 ATV Sprayer is a large capacity low profile ATV sprayer that features a large filling lid and comes with alligator clips for attaching the unit to a battery. It has a solid white hard plastic tank that will attach easily to any ATV.
We didn’t like the quality of the pump on this model. It made a strange noise, and the pressure was very low. We needed to get quite close to the areas we needed to spray to reach them. After a few uses, the pump stopped working. The included hoses were also of low quality, and are very thin. These hoses are prone to punctures and dry-rot.
- 15-gallon capacity
- Large filling lid
- Low-quality pump
- Low-quality hoses
10. SEAFLO ATV Spot Sprayer
The SEAFLO SFSP1-050-010-01A ATV Spot Sprayer is the last brand of ATV sprayer on our list. This model features a 15-gallon capacity tank made from a durable polyethylene plastic polymer. It can unload up to 3 gallons of content per minute, which is more than any other brand on this list.
What we didn’t like about this model is that it arrives in several pieces, and you need to assemble it yourself. There are no directions, so you need to figure it out yourself. It took us several hours to finish the assembly, and when we tried it out, water leaked from every point it could. The pump does have a lot of pressure, but it turns out to be too much for the construction of the unit. Ours was so strong that it kept blowing the sprayer tips off the hose.
- 15-gallon capacity
- Sprays 3 gallons per minute
- Difficult to assemble
- All joints leak
- Spray tips fly off
Buyer’s Guide – Choosing the Best ATV Sprayer
Let’s take a look a the most critical aspects of the ATV sprayer.
Tank
The tank comprises most of the device, so we’ll take a look at that first.
Capacity
For many people, the tank capacity is going to be among the first things they look at when purchasing an ATV sprayer, especially if you have a large area to spray. Tanks range in size and can have a capacity of a few gallons up to 25 on our top ten list. A larger tank means less time wasted refilling, and since you are strapping it to an ATV, we recommend getting the largest one your budget will allow. The exception is if you only have a tiny area that you need to water.
Tank Durability
The durability of the tank is equally as important as its capacity. Once the tank gets a crack or a hole, it will be time to purchase a new unit. Most modern tanks use polyethylene in their construction, which is quite durable, but you will want to be on the lookout for containers that have thicker walls. You will see a difference if you shop around. Another thing to look for is brands that specify that the tank is resistant to UV rays, which can harden the plastic and cause it to become brittle. Ultraviolet resistance is especially if the tank spends a lot of time in the sun.
Chemical Ready
Another thing to look out for if you plan on using your ATV sprayer to spread weed killer and other chemicals is that the container is rated to hold those chemicals. Most modern ATV sprayers are, but it always helps to look for brands that state that they are “Roundup Ready.”
Pump Quality
The next essential thing that you want to be on the lookout for is pump quality. The pump is going to be responsible for the spray rate and the spray distance. How much pressure the pump can create and maintain is a vital statistic. We recommend avoiding pumps that spray less than one gallon per minute as these are often low-quality pumps. Even stronger pumps can be made from cheap materials, though, so you must check the construction yourself on each brand.
Spray Wand
The spray wand is also responsible for how far the spray will reach because its design affects the pressure created. Unfortunately, this is an area where many manufacturers take shortcuts and include very flimsy wands. The tips can often leak, or shoot off, and the handles can crack and leak as well. We recommend looking over the wand before purchasing the unit to see if you notice any signs that it’s not high-quality. If anything gives you reservations, move on because you are probably right.
Ease of Attachment
The last thing that you need to worry about before you make your purchase is that it will attach securely to your ATV. While most brands of this style sprayer will work well, not every brand is for an ATV. There are plenty of brands that market themselves as multipurpose that may have a harder time attaching securely to your ATV.
Final Verdict
When purchasing your ATV sprayer, we recommend choosing the largest tank you can afford, that has a well built durable pump that can push out at least one gallon per minute. The spray wand should have a little weight, fit nicely in your hand, and feel well built. A perfect example is our choice for the best overall. The Master Manufacturing SSO-01-015A-MM Spot Sprayer features a large 15-gallon tank and a powerful pump capable of spraying up to 25 feet away. If you have a smaller area to spray, we recommend our pick for the best value. The Master Manufacturing SSO-01-015A-MM Spot Sprayer has a ten-gallon tank with a sturdy motor that will last several years.
